Player of the Week unveiled

Izzy Ashburn, Champlin ParkThe 5-11 junior dominated the court with 27 kills, 32 sets and three digs to help the Rebels edge Stillwater in a 3-2 battle Aug. 26.  

Player of the Week candidates

Sophia Andersen, New Prague. The sophomore kicked off the season with 31 kills in 71 attempts, along with 21 assists in her team’s 3-2 loss to Faribault on Aug. 25.

Kayla Bair, Prior Lake. The 6-foot-1 senior recorded 20 kills, two service aces and four solo blocks in the Lakers’ 3-1 victory over East Ridge on Sept. 1.

Alina Gartner, Hill-Murray. The 5-10 senior aced three serves and had 21 sets in Hill-Murray’s 2-0 victory over South St. Paul and also contributed 22 sets in a 2-0 victory against St. Paul Highland Park in the Visitation Invitational on Aug. 26.

Logan Sherman, Marshall. A 5-10 sophomore, Sherman tallied 35 assists to help her team defeat Blue Earth 3-0 on Aug. 26.

Haley Wollschlager, Lac qui Parle Valley. This 5-3 junior dominated the defensive end of the court with 48 digs in a 3-1 loss to Hendricks on Aug. 29.

Cianna Selbitschka, North Branch. The 5-10 sophomore amassed 28 kills to help North Branch defeat Grand Rapids 3-1 on Aug. 29.
