Blaschko
Blaschko, a 6-foot-1 middle blocker, helped the Sabers reach the Class 3A, Section 2 final last season. The Sabers open their season Tuesday vs. Southwest Christian.
Q: Are you looking forward to the season?
A: I’m very excited. I feel like this is our year, and we’re in a good place right now to build on the foundation we started last season. We know it will be a tough road, and we’re not overlooking anyone because we’re in a very challenging conference and section, but this season feels special.
Q: How valuable was last year’s playoffs experience for the team?
A: It was huge in terms of our confidence. Just being so close to complete success gave us a new drive and motivation to really put it all out there.
Q: You set a school record for blocks last season. Do you have any personal goals for this season?
A: I haven’t thought much about personal goals, I’m just really excited to see what the team brings this year. This year I’d like us to earn a spot in that section final match again, this time with a different outcome!
Q: You’ve committed to Nebraska-Omaha. How tough was the decision?
A: I didn’t really know what to expect from recruiting and was overwhelmed when coaches started reaching out. I was very grateful for the interest, but it was a stressful time. I’m feeling pretty good now though – UNO feels like a good fit for me.
Q: In your spare time, what do you do to relax?
A: Spare time seems rare, but I love hanging out with my friends and camping with my family.
