These are teams that lost some fairly significant portions of their line-up but still bring back enough to make their teams highly competitive.
Hudson lost three of their top five scorers from a year ago including two of their top three. With that said battling four man Alex Herink returns as an upperclassmen ready to do battle with whatever is put in front of him. Washburn is coming off a second place at state finish and will be lead by speedy point guard Nick Anderson.
Washburn will be one of the better defensive clubs with Quinton Garvis, Jeff Jones, and Noah Scarver all ready to step up and harass.
Ethan Stanchik vs Nick Anderson: Ethan is Hudson’s top returning guard and he’ll have his work cut out for him trying to chase around the speedy Anderson. They two play different style games but they will control the pace for their teams. Anderson’s ability to see the floor and drop in picture perfect assists makes him one of the state’s best PGs.
