Parker Anderson

Senior linebacker Parker Anderson has helped Prior Lake's football team get off to a 3-1 start. The Lakers travel to play unbeaten Lakeville North for a key South Suburban Conference matchup Friday night.

Here is a closer look at Anderson:

The best movie I've seen in the last year? I really liked "Avengers."

What are your three favorite apps? Twitter is by far No. 1. I am always on it. HUDL is second, and Facebook is probably third.

Who do you like to follow the most on Twitter, and why? I like to follow a lot of my favorite athletes, because it is pretty fun to see what they have to say.

What is your most memorable moment as a high school athlete? My most memorable moment by far was winning the section championship last year and being able to play in the Dome for the state tournament. It was the first time our school had ever made it to state for football, so it was a really big deal for us.

How did you get started playing the sport or sports you play now in high school? I started playing football in third grade, and it has been my life ever since.

At my first varsity practice, I felt ... overwhelmed, to say the least.

What did you work on in the offseason? The offseason consisted of a lot of lifting and running for our team. Getting bigger, faster, and stronger is a very big goal each offseason for our program.

What is your favorite meal prior to a game? If we can, my teammate Elijah Patrick and I go to Buffalo Wild Wings with my dad and get something little before the game. We don't ever get wings though; that could get bad.

To get focused for a game ... it really depends on the day and how I am feeling. Sometimes I am really loose and joking around, and other times I am very intense and don't talk much.

I know I have an edge on an opponent when ... their body language is down. If they have hands on hips and if they look tired and down, that is when you know you have an edge.

Who is your school's biggest rival, and why? It used to be Shakopee, but now we don't play them anymore. I think now it has shifted to Burnsville. We play them every year now for the Dan Patch Trophy, and the games get really intense.

How did you balance school and sports during the year? You have to really try your best to get all your work done in school because after practice gets done and you don't get home until 6:30 p.m. You don't have much time to get stuff done.

When you have time off during vacation, what do you like to do? I really like hanging out with friends. When I am not doing that, I like going up to the cabin and do some fishing.

Who is your favorite college or pro sports team and why? I really like watching the Vikings, Twins and Gophers because I grew up watching them.

What is the best sports advice you ever received? "Do your best, and forget the rest."
