Stillwater at East Ridge
7 p.m., Tuesday, Oct. 10

Tuesday night’s match at East Ridge should decide the Suburban East Conference title. Neither the host Raptors nor Stillwater has lost a conference match yet, with East Ridge sitting at 6-0 and No. 5-3A Stillwater at 5-0 in the circuit.

East Ridge (12-5) has won eight of its last nine matches, yet slipped out of last week's Class 3A top-10 rankings. Senior libero Ella Ratzloff is one of the top defensive players in the state and gives the Raptors a great back row force. She has attacking help from junior Kate Reimann and freshman Lauren Galvin, while junior setter Stephanie Barber runs the show on offense.

Since losing to No. 1-3A Eagan in five sets at home on Sept. 5, Stillwater (13-4) has won 12 of 14 matches to rise in the Class 3A rankings. Senior captains Rachel Houle, Mikayla Gjerde and Olivia Walsh, and 6-foot-3 sophomore middle Maddie Whittington power the Ponies, who seek to return to the state tournament for the first time since 2009.
