Bemidji at Moorhead
7:15 p.m., Tuesday, Oct. 10

Bemidji won two of five matches over the weekend at the St. Michael-Albertville tournament, beating Chanhassen and Anoka, and losing to No. 3-3A Champlin Park, No. 9-3A Minnetonka and No. 5-2A Southwest Christian.

In the victory over Chanhassen, senior setter (and coach Teresa Colligan’s daughter) Addie Colligan had 30 set assists — and 65 over three Saturday matches. Senior outside hitter Lexi Wade had 12 kills and senior middle Anna Falldorf added eight kills in the win over the Storm, while senior libero Jenna Lewis led the team with 16 digs in the match. Bemidji is a veteran crew, with largely seniors leading the way this fall.

The Lumberjacks (10-9) are hoping to stop Moorhead’s two-year run as section champions, although the Spuds are the likely the No. 1 seed as of this week. Willmar and Sauk Rapids-Rice also have great section records and could be factors.

Moorhead (11-5) had just one match last week, a home sweep of Fargo Davies (N.D.) on Tuesday. Spuds senior outside hitter Lexi Gilbertson racked up a team-high 10 kills, many off feeds from senior setter Kortney Carney. The two seniors anchor the Spuds’ attack along with junior Brooke Walthall.
