Eagan at Rosemount
7 p.m., Tuesday, Oct. 18

Eagan’s undefeated season looked to be in serious jeopardy last Thursday when Lakeville South took a two-set lead into the third.

The No. 1-3A Wildcats (20-0, 9-0), however, lived up to the billing and rallied to defeat the No. 2-3A Cougars. Senior outside hitter and Iowa commit Brie Orr led the comeback and finished the match with 18 kills.

Rosemount (14-12, 4-4) has not had the same success as Eagan while playing a challenging schedule in the twilight of the regular season. The Irish posted four consecutive losses, including defeats to No. 4-3A Champlin Park, No. 18-3A East Ridge and No. 5-3A Prior Lake.

Junior setter Madeline Mackinac (816 assists) is the linchpin of Rosemount's attack, dishing the ball to a trio of hitters with triple-digit kills: Ashley Hahnfeldt (170 kills), Jenna Grutzmacher (129 kills) and Shae Buchman (107 kills).
