Rochester Mayo at Winona
7:15 p.m., Thursday, Oct. 13

Rochester Mayo has lost three of its last four matches, cooling what had been a hot start for the Spartans (11-4, 4-3). Despite the results, Senior Kate Holtan continues to impress for Mayo, leading the team in kills with 217 and digs with 178. Junior Hallie Olson follows Holtan in digs with 173.

Both players will need to put up big numbers if the Spartans are going to bounce back in this matchup, as Mayo did not win a set in consecutive losses to Rochester Century and Austin in Big 9 Conference matches last week.

Winona (7-7, 5-4) has had a similar issue, as the Winhawks have also not won a set in the last two contests.

Winona must play better early in matches if it wants to reverse the losing trend. Opponents have outscored the Winhawks 320-272 in first sets this season and the Spartans have the offensive firepower to take advantage if the Winhawks can't contain them.
