Wayzata at Hopkins
7 p.m., Thursday, Sept. 29

Winners of four of its last five matches, Wayzata appears primed to pull off an upset of Lake Conference leader Hopkins when they meet Thursday.

To walk away with the win, the No. 6-3A Trojans (10-3, 2-1) will need to call on the knowledge gained from a 3-2 loss to the No. 5-3A Royals (10-1, 4-0) just a few weeks ago to walk away with a win.

Wayzata will also need another huge performance form Kate Berg, who had 37 kills the first time these teams met.

Hopkins recorded its first loss of the season on Sept. 23, dropping two sets to No. 8-3A Roseville at the Apple Valley tournament. The defeat is hardly a cause for concern heading into the battle with the Trojans, but the Royals must show an ability to bounce back to avoid another loss to a quality opponent.

Senior outside hitter and Minnesota commit Jasmyn Martin is the catalyst for Hopkins, leading the team with 178 kills.
