Lakeville South at Prior Lake

Lakeville South is No. 2 in Class 3A rankings simply because top-ranked Eagan remains undefeated. The Cougars are also tied with the Wildcats for first place in the South Suburban Conference.

The Cougars (10-0, 3-0) have not lost a set this season and deploy serious weapons at each position, none of which is stronger than senior outside hitter Jenny Mosser (188 kills).

Mosser broke her own record for kills in a single season with 544 last year. Taking care of distribution is junior setter Sydney Case (297 assists), and highlighting the defense is senior libero Halle Johnston (126 digs).

Also hovering near the top of the conference standings is No. 6-3A Prior Lake, which has won three straight matches, including a four-set win over No. 6-3A Shakopee on Sept. 15.

The Lakers (9-3, 2-0) rely on a loaded attacking system, with five players eclipsing 70 kills this season. Junior Kayla Bair leads the group with 97 kills.

Senior setter Ellie Veldman has a team-high 346 assists while junior libero C.C. McGraw's 225 digs leads the squad.
