Mayer Lutheran at Glencoe-Silver Lake
7 p.m., Tuesday, Sept. 13

Mayer Lutheran has not lost a set since opening the season with a 3-2 victory over New Prague, and the No. 5-1A Crusaders boast an 8-0 record after recording four wins in the Mankato West Tournament last weekend.

With a roster comprised of almost all juniors and led by seniors Rachel Roepke and Lucy Koch, Mayer Lutheran doesn't appear to be slowing down any time soon.

The Crusaders already have one victory in Minnesota River Conference play, a 26-24, 25-15, 25-10 thumping of Sibley East, and can use the match against Glencoe-Silver Lake to help prepare for a showdown at league rival and No. 3-2A-ranked Belle Plaine on Sept. 22.

Glencoe-Silver Lake is coming off a 3-1 home loss to Hutchinson, which ended a two-match winning streak (at Norwood-Young America and at Sibley East).

The Panthers (2-2) field a three-pronged attack, with senior middle hitter Maddie Monahan (48 kills) and sophomore Rhyan Herrmann (36 kills) taking advantage of junior setter Lexi Hansch's ability to distribute the ball. Hansch leads the team with 62 assists.
