Eden Prairie at Wayzata
7 p.m., Thursday, Sept. 15

Eden Prairie had a three-match winning streak snapped last week, losing in back-to-back matches with No. 9-3A Blaine and No. 4-3A Lakeville South. But the No. 10-3A Eagles (3-3) could make a strong statement with a win in this Lake Conference matchup.

Wayzata is also coming off a loss to Lakeville South. The No. 5-3A Trojans (6-2) fell to the Cougars in the Southwest Minnesota Challenge championship game last the weekend, just four days after being swept by Lakeville South in a regular-season contest.

The Eagles won last year's matchup, rallying from a two-set deficit for a 3-2 victory. If Eden Prairie is repeat the result, it must overcome an opposing offense that has come roaring out of the gate behind two seniors.

Outside hitter Kate Berg leads Wayzata in kills with 101 and setter MacKenzie Groechel has a team-high 177 assists.
