Tracy-Milroy-Balaton at Hopkins
3 p.m., Saturday, Aug. 27

Hopkins hopes to improve on last season’s 17-15 mark thanks in large part to a lineup boasting plenty of height around the net and highlighted by 6-foot-3 outside hitter Jasmyn Martin. The senior was named to the all-state team last year.

The No. 9-3A Royals also get back two 6-0 all-Lake Conference selections in sophomore middle hitter Anna Erickson and junior setter Tara Lee.

Since winning the Class 2A title in 2004, Tracy-Milroy-Balaton has made just two trips to the state tournament, finishing as runners-up in Class 1A the past two seasons.

With the return of all-state senior outside hitter Sydney Lanoue (486 kills, 290 digs), senior setter Gabbie Gervais (285 digs, 1,144 assists) and junior libero Kaylee Kirk (484 digs), the No. 2-1A Panthers seem prepared to make a third consecutive state tournament — and contend for a title.
