Concordia Academy at Visitation
6 p.m., Thursday, Sept. 17

After a state tournament appearance last season, Concordia Academy (4-3) has run a gauntlet of a schedule this year but pulled through with victories over No. 5-3A Rosemount and No. 2-2A Stewartville. Facing that level of competition has kept the Beacons in the Class 2A rankings, where they are No. 13. A win in this Tri-Metro Conference match could send Concordia Academy higher in the polls.

Visitation may be 0-4, but the Blazers have experience - with six seniors - and return a core that helped defeat Concordia Academy in five sets in last year’s season opener. Right side hitter Claire Gorman and middle hitters Olivia Horsager and Hannah Tierney form a solid trio of seniors who produce for Visitation.
