Kasson-Mantorville at Hutchinson
7 p.m., Tuesday, Sept. 1

Kasson-Mantorville eased past Winona 25-16, 25-17, 25-21 to open the season. The KoMets, ranked No. 3-2A, return freshman middle hitter Peyton Suess (228 kills, 117 blocks), who can dominate on the net. Suess pairs with senior outside hitter Gabbi Matuska (174 kills, 123 digs) to give Kasson-Mantorville (1-0) and formidable inside/outside combination.

Bringing back nine letterwinners gives Hutchinson (1-0) a deep lineup, led by senior outside hitter Erin Corrigan, who set the school record for kills in a season with 361 last year. Corrigan had a team-high 22 kills while senior setter Megan Schwarzrock dished out 46 assists as the Tigers defeated Mound-Westonka in the season opener.
