Minneota at Tracy-Milroy-Balaton
7:30 p.m., Tuesday, Oct. 7

Judging by the state rankings and the Camden Conference standings, this match between Minneota and Tracy-Milroy-Balaton should come down to a tie. But that’s not the way the match is played. There will be a winner, no matter how long it takes.

Both programs are battling with Central Minnesota Christian for first in the conference. All three schools are 8-1, with the Bluejays beating both (but losing to Dawson-Boyd). Both Minneota and Tracy-Milroy-Balaton are also tied with New Life Academy for No. 3 in Class 1A rankings this week.

How much closer can it get? One factor to consider is that the Vikings swept the Panthers in the Southwest Minnesota Challenge in Marshall on Sept. 6.

The Vikings’ top weapon is middle Taylor Reiss, who is a handful at the net for most Class 1A teams.
