Stewartville at Faribault Bethlehem Academy
4 p.m., Saturday, Oct. 11

There is plenty of great volleyball outside of Class 3A this week, but perhaps none better than a matchup between the top-ranked teams in Class 2A (No. 1-2A Stewartville) and in Class 1A (No. 1-1A Bethlehem Academy) in Faribault Saturday.

While Bethlehem Academy has been in the top spot in the polls all season, Stewartville only recently ascended to No. 1. With a deep lineup that includes seniors Lauren Mathews and Payton Schultz, the Cardinals have rolled through Class 1A.

Meanwhile, Stewartville has lost only one match to a Minnesota team all season (Rosemount in the Aerie Challenge on Sept. 6). It shouldn’t come as a surprise that a John Dzubay-coached team is doing well. He’s led the Tigers to 21 of the last 27 state tournaments and to more than 800 victories.
