Osseo at Champlin Park
7 p.m., Tuesday, Sept. 30

The top two teams in the difficult Northwest Suburban Conference collide Tuesday night when Champlin Park hosts Osseo. The Rebels are 8-0 in the league one match ahead of Osseo and Blaine but have not faced the Orioles or Tigers this season.

Coach John Yunker’s focus on ball control and defense have the Rebels reaching new heights, as they are continuing to win despite graduating a strong senior class anchored by All-State hitter Mariya Sampson. Sophomore setter Sydney Hilley earned honorable mention All-State honors as a freshman and is dangerous as a hitter or a setter. Osseo provides a stern test for Champlin Park, as the Orioles are tough at the net with senior outside hitters Hannah Pekarek and Shiah Sanders and sophomore middle Christina Boe. The trio helped lead the Orioles to the state tournament last fall.
