Eagan at Eastview
7 p.m., Tuesday, Sept. 23

Eagan's hopes for a successful season rest on the young shoulders of sophomore setter/hitter Brie Orr, who is proving she up to the task for the Wildcats.

Eagan, No. 4 in Class 3A and the defending state Class 3A champion, has already surpassed last year’s loss total (31-3 last fall and 11-4 so far this season). Before starring with the Wildcats, Orr began her high school career as an eighth-grade sensation at neighboring Eastview.

Eastview experienced a rough couple of years after a successful run under former coach Becky Egan, who stepped down two years ago to become head coach of the Hamline University volleyball program. The Lightning started quickly this fall but have lost four of their last five matches. Keep an eye on senior middle Emma Veum, a returning All-Conference honorable mention choice for Eastview.
