Hopkins at Eden Prairie
7 p.m., Tuesday, Sept. 16

The top spot in the Class 3A polls hasn’t been a safe place to be so far this season, but new No. 1-3A Eden Prairie doesn’t show any signs of letting go. The Eagles haven’t dropped a set while winning their first nine matches, including a championship in their home invitational in late August. With the tough Lake Conference slate getting started it won’t be easy to stay unbeaten, however. No. 6-3A Hopkins is the next obstacle for the Eagles. Several of the top Miss Volleyball candidates will go head-to-head, including Hopkins’ setter Sam Seliger Swenson and Eden Prairie seniors Abby Ihrke and Elizabeth Mohr. Eden Prairie has the edge in experience with a senior-laden lineup, while Hopkins relies on several underclassmen such as sophomore middle Jazz Martin.
